Excavation software for Canadian dirt crews

SpoilStack tracks jobs, machines, and haul counts for small excavation contractors, and it handles Canadian job sites properly: Canadian address suggestions, typed addresses located by the server, and the forecast in Celsius.

Use it when

  • Your last app only suggested US addresses for a job in Ontario.
  • The crew wants the forecast in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
  • Half your sites are rural and the phone shows no bars.
  • You are paying per seat for a US tool and the crew keeps growing.

Canadian addresses, found properly

Address suggestions follow your company’s country. Once SpoilStack knows the company is Canadian, from its address or from where the crew uses the app, the suggestions list Canadian addresses instead of US ones. Pick one and the job has its exact location. Type the address yourself and the server looks it up in the background, leaning toward Canada, then shows the place it found under the address, like “Weather for Welland, ON”, so you can see it got it right.

Weather in Celsius

Every job shows a 5-day forecast for its address. For a job in Canada the temperatures come back in °C, and so do the temperatures on daily logs, the daily log PDFs, the closeout package, and the 6 AM morning briefing email. Jobs across the border in the US stay in °F.

Canadian spelling and dates

When your company is in Canada, the apps and the closeout package say Labour and Cancelled, numeric dates read 2026-11-01, times read 3:29 p.m., and address fields show a Canadian example. That is spelling and date style only. The app is still in English, not French.

Built for sites with no signal

A lot of dirt work happens a long way from a cell tower. SpoilStack is offline-first: jobs, haul counts, machine moves, photos, and daily logs save on the phone with no bars and sync when the truck finds signal again.

Pause it for freeze-up

When the ground freezes and the season ends, pause billing instead of cancelling. The charge stops at the end of the month you already paid for, the company goes read-only, and every job, photo, and log is kept until you resume.

One flat price, in US dollars

SpoilStack is $99 USD a month for the whole company, with unlimited users and no per-seat fees. Billing runs through Stripe in US dollars, so your card is charged in USD and your bank does the conversion. The 14-day free trial needs no credit card.

Not built for

  • French language (not yet)
  • Billing in Canadian dollars
  • Invoicing, estimating, or payroll
  • GPS tracking of machines or crew

Frequently asked questions

Does SpoilStack work in Canada?

Yes. Address suggestions follow your company’s country, typed addresses are located by the server, and weather shows in °C for jobs in Canada. The web app, the iPhone app, and the Android app all work this way.

Which provinces does it cover?

All of them, and the territories. There is no list of supported provinces: suggestions and the server lookup work for addresses anywhere in Canada. The lookup leans toward your own country without locking you in, so a contractor near the border can still have a job on the other side.

What currency is billing in?

US dollars. SpoilStack is $99 USD per month, billed through Stripe. Your card is charged in USD and your bank converts it, which can include a foreign transaction fee depending on the card. There is no Canadian dollar price.

Is SpoilStack available in French?

Not yet. The app and the website are in English only today.

Do temperatures show in Celsius?

Yes, for jobs in Canada. The 5-day forecast, daily log temperatures, the daily log PDFs, the closeout package, and the morning briefing show °C. Jobs in the US show °F.

Does it work without cell service?

Yes. SpoilStack is offline-first. Everything the crew logs saves on the phone and syncs when signal returns.

Can I pause it over the winter?

Yes. Seasonal pause stops billing at the end of the month you already paid for and keeps every record readable until you resume.
