002Per-seat math

What a crew actually costs.

Most field service software charges per user, so the bill grows every time you put another person on the job. SpoilStack does not. Here is the same 10-person outfit priced three ways.

Crew sizeJobberProjulSpoilStack
5 people$169/mo$399/mo$99/mo
10 people$349/mo$399/mo$99/mo
15 people$599/mo$399/mo$99/mo

Competitor list pricing as published in July 2026. Both are generic tools that cover quoting, invoicing, and customer portals. SpoilStack covers the excavation field record instead, so compare what you actually need before you switch. See the longer breakdowns for Jobber and Projul.

003Off-season

Pause it when the ground freezes.

Dirt work is seasonal in most of the country, and paying full freight through a winter you are not digging in is the reason crews go back to paper. Seasonal pause stops the billing and puts your company into read-only mode.

Billing stops

No charges while you are paused. Start it from Settings when the season ends.

Records are kept

Every job, photo, daily log, and closeout package stays exactly where it was.

Resume anytime

Turn it back on when work picks up and the crew keeps going where it left off.

004Scope

What the $99 does not buy.

SpoilStack handles the job record between winning the bid and building the closeout package. It is deliberately not an everything suite, and these are the things it will not do for you at any price.

005Billing questions

The parts people ask about.

How much does SpoilStack cost?

$99 per month, flat, for your whole company. There are no per-seat fees, no setup fees, and no contract. The price does not change as you add crew members.

Is there really no per-user charge?

Correct. Your owner, foremen, office staff, operators, and laborers are all included at the same $99. A 3-person outfit and a 15-person outfit pay the same. This is the main reason crews switch from per-seat field service tools.

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days free and no credit card is required to start. Nothing bills until you choose to subscribe, and if you never subscribe you are never charged.

Can I pause billing in the off-season?

Yes. Seasonal pause stops billing and puts your company into read-only mode. All of your jobs, photos, logs, and closeout records are kept, and you can resume anytime. This is built for regions where dirt work stops for part of the year.

How do I cancel?

Go to Settings, then Billing, then Manage Subscription. You can cancel anytime and your data stays accessible through the end of the billing period you already paid for.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your records stay accessible until the end of the paid period, and you can build closeout packages for your jobs before you go. Export what you need and it is yours to keep.

Do the mobile apps cost extra?

No. The iPhone and Android apps and the web dashboard are all included in the $99. Sign up on the website, then your crew downloads the app and signs in.

Do you charge for storage or photos?

No. Site photos, plan PDFs, permits, and documents are included. This is a photo-heavy product by design and metering it would defeat the purpose.
